Obviously we disagree about this and I have no illusions of being able to convince you otherwise...but for the potential sake of someone else out there...let the reader of this note not neglect the clear teaching of John 3, I John 2, I Timo...thy 2, and the heart of the Scriptures as a whole. We have a merciful God who takes no pleasure at the death of the wicked, but rather, "Say to them: ‘As I live,’ says the Lord GOD, ‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?’ (Ezekiel 33) and does not desire for any to perish (II Peter 3:9). The argument that if Christ died for all men and yet some perish then Christ is a failure is exactly the same logic of the Muslims that tell me if God had a Son He would not fail by letting His Son die. These are both logical arguments of humans and not the clear teaching of Scripture. What success is from God's perspective is not that His Son would not die or that some whom He died for would not receive eternal life. But that His Son did die for all and that one way or another as the Apostle Paul stated, "that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,"
