Disclaimer: This page is for my replies to blogs, forums, websites, videos, Facebook posts, and other materials online. It will allow more space and layout that FB allows.
#1. My assertions and stance are given with kindness, gentleness, meekness, warmth, and friendliness; I will be addressing the "topic at hand" not the "person." However, Jesus and John did call men a brood of vipers. Please do not take any post as on-edge because I bring it to this blog, that is not my goal. I fully believe in the fruit of the Holy Spirit, 1 Corinthians 13, washing feet, James 3, 2 Timothy 2:23-26, and other relevant verses. My goal is not to start a quarrel, be in a quarrel, or be contentious; It is not my goal to hammer anyone, humiliate anyone, or snipe. However, I may be thorough in my reply. The aim of this disclaimer is not to ratchet up the heat, but rather make every attempt to assure readers that diligence and vigilance for truth is important.
#2. I aim to state what was wrong or unclear in the material to which I am replying, by what is either explicitly stated, or from what I infer from that material. At times, my goal is to merely receive clarifications on what I infer from the material I find. My posts are not to be taken as a shouting match.
#3. I do not see argument itself as bad, evil, sin, or rude. I personally see little difference between argument and conversation. Both are productive, both are constructive, both are means of learning.
#4. There are absolutes and not every assertion is right. Assertions need evidence and should stand the scrutiny of detailed investigation. I have been in numerous choirs, ensembles, and private voice lessons where daily I was told that I was wrong in pitch, volume, rhythm, pronunciation. I did not accuse my directors of being arrogant in telling me this.
#5. Having said that, there are times when nothing new has been added to a on-going discussion and it is best to pick a new topic if communication is not occurring. Please feel free to advise me on other tips for my response page.
#6. I am not claiming to be omniscient, inerrant, perfect on any level, whether theologically, or in grammar, spelling, syntax, logic, or any matter we discuss.
#7. This public setting will give me an accountability to other readers if I am giving a strawman post, harsh tone, or other errors, to which I should apologize, ask forgiveness, and repent of. (Though some straw-man errors are not intentional, but simply the product of communication breakdown.)
#8. Maybe in the future I will set space limits per reply, maybe 2000 words per post or something. I will certainly censor any vulgarity, outright name-calling, or ad hominem remarks.
Actually I will try these 2 formats.
#8b. A reply length of: Arial Narrow. 11 point font. Double-Spaced. Front and back sheet of paper. One inch margins all around. And no longer per post, unless either: a reply has been given, or unless 3 days have passed. (Realize additional posts after 3 days is not an attempt to hog the floor. but rather to provide extra response for other visitors who are curious; What Supreme Court or Human court says your evidence must not go over 2 pages? Of course they sleep for 8 hours in a break, thus I will have a few days off till we reconvene.
#8c. A reply length of: Indefinite Length (10-40+ pages) in the same font, font size, and spacing. Such material is not intended to hog the floor, but grant me my personal organization of thoughts on the topics, so I will not be offended if you are not interested in reading the longer version, but it will be available on certain topics if you are interested.
#9. I will always label my position as Position X (PosX), and the position I am trying to counter as Position Z (PosZ). I also designate Position Q. (PosQ) as a position that hopefully neither of us would assert and in debunking this PosQ I am not attempting to put words in your mouth, but merely addressing another camp that might attempt such a view.
I will label my topics in the title so I will have PosX on 15 different topics, and if you are disagreeing with my PosX I will assume it is in relation to this specific Post Title Topic. Likewise if I am referring to a PosZ that is not directly related to the Post Title, then I will then try to designate which previous PosZ-topic that I am referring to.
